How to prepare for your Maternity Session

Styling the Session:  (This is the fun part of the prep for me!)

Location:  Mini Maternity Sessions are done at Bond Park or in the Studio.  Full Packages have a choice of one of the locations I shoot at.  If you do the studio and outdoors, we will do Sears Farm Road Park or Bond Park or Carpenter Farm Supply.  Milk Baths are done in the studio.

What to Wear:  That's always that hardest part for everyone!  If you have something special you want to wear, I suggest that you style your family around what you are wearing.

I have an ALBUM of dresses for you to check out - notice the first page are dresses designed for outdoors.  The second half of the second page and the third page are more indoor dresses.  There are two dresses (white lace and white bib smock dress) that can be used in the milk bath.

Some of my dresses from Sew Trendy Accessories often and they have gorgeous dresses.  Here is a 10% off COUPON for you if you'd like to purchase from them.  (I do not make additional purchases of dresses on request.  If you have a dress you'd like to request and it's a dress I'd like to add to my wardrobe, you are welcome to ask if the purchase and trade of the dress towards my wardrobe can go towards your session fee.)

Here is a Pinterest BOARD for you to check out colors.  I highly suggest that you avoid putting lots of patterns together.  Choose 2-3 complimentary colors and base your session around those.

Hair, Nails, & Make-up:  Girl, get it done!  The best I feel in front of the camera is after I've been pampered. :-)  If you are doing a studio session, I will help hire a Hair & Make Up Artist for you to be styled in the studio.

Milk Bath:  Milk Baths are a beautiful additional session.  It is done with simple greenery and a dozen soft flowers.  If you would like additional flowers like specific roses or specific types of flowers or eucalyptus then they are an additional purchase and based on the season.  I tend to go with peaches and creams or pinks and creams or lavenders and creams.  Some flowers cannot be purchased if they aren't in season.

Flower Crowns:  I have ten beautiful flower crowns.  The album still needs to be added to my website.  They range from simple baby's breath, simple greenery to more elaborate flowers.  I can also help you find a florist to make a fresh flower crown for you.
